Parent & Child
Our Parent & Child Program has two offerings:
Parent & Baby — Birth to 14 months
Parent & Toddler — 15 months to 2 years 9 months
What is the goal of our Parent & Child Program?
A young child's first experience of the world beyond home should feel safe, warm, and good. With that foundation in place, we offer parents and caregivers childcare resources and a place to plant the seeds of community.
How do we get there?
Even at this earliest stage, we nurture the whole child. The head: songs, rhymes, and simple stories plant the first seeds of language. The heart: a gentle weekly rhythm, a warm teacher, and familiar faces build trust in the world. The hands: kneading bread, digging in the garden, exploring with all the senses. Parents, meanwhile, gain an experienced guide and a community of families walking the same road.
Parent & Baby — Find your Village
Establish your support network and enjoy the early months of parenthood.
Explore themes related to the growth, development, and parenting of the infant with mother and Lifeways Early Childhood certified teacher Jessica Williams! Babies lie on a soft blanket where they watch what interests them or move around to reach the objects in the room. Special attention is given to supporting the natural unfolding of children’s interests, movement abilities, social interactions, and problem-solving skills. A nurturing atmosphere welcomes and surrounds adults and babies alike.
We will learn seasonal songs, lullabies, and games to play with babies. Parents also develop their ability to quietly observe and interpret babies’ movements, gestures, and vocalizations. Through quiet observation, parents deepen their own intuitive knowledge and discover new ways of being with their children.
Weekly readings are explored in a spirit of mutual learning, and classes based on Waldorf, early childhood education, also include opportunities for informative conversation.

Parent & Toddler — Slow Down and Connect
An opportunity to be present with your child and other parents and caregivers.
These simple, sweet, and playful morning gatherings are held in our school's cozy Parent & Child classrooms, a welcoming child-centered environment that invites exploration and play. We also spend time outdoors (weather permitting!) enjoying the play yards and gardens on our school’s 10-acre campus.
For young children, parent toddler classes are a gentle, supportive way to start socializing with other children and exploring the world around them. For parents and caregivers, the classes are an opportunity to connect with other families, discuss parenting and Waldorf education, and learn more about their child by quietly observing them at play.
Our Parent & Toddler classes are beloved and space is limited! Join our early access list to get priority registration and stay in touch about future classes.
