Marin Waldorf School

Parent Child

Join our gentle and welcoming community for new and growing families. Grounded in Waldorf philosophy and set in our cozy Manzanita playroom, our infant and toddler classes offer a warm place of support, connection and play. We can’t wait to meet you and your little one!

Breath, unplug and connect in Parent Toddler

Take a moment to breathe, unplug, and connect with your child and other parents and caregivers during our morning Parent-Toddler classes.

These simple, sweet, and playful morning gatherings are held in our school's cozy parent-child classrooms, a welcoming child-centered environment that invites exploration and play. We also spend time outdoors (weather permitting!) enjoying the play yards and gardens on our school’s 10-acre campus.

For young children, parent-toddler classes are a gentle, supportive way to start socializing with other children and exploring the world around them. For parents and caregivers, the classes are an opportunity to connect with other families, discuss parenting and Waldorf education, and learn more about their child by quietly observing them at play.

Age: Open to families with children ages 15 months to 2 years 9 months old. For babies under 15 months, please see our Baby & Me Program for families with children birth to 14 months.

Date and time: Parent toddler classes are held on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8:45am - 10:45am.

Our Parent Toddler classes are beloved and space is limited! Join our early access list to get priority registration and stay in touch about future classes.

Find your Village in Baby & Me

Find your village of support and enjoy the early months of parenthood. Our expertly guided baby and me program is built around the idea that effective, empathetic parenting stems from a well-nurtured caregiver, and from developing deep, meaningful connections within families.

Each session will blend practical learning to observe and understand your baby, seasonal songs and games to play and build connection, and mindfulness techniques to help parents and caregivers to reconnect with their inner selves and replenish their emotional reserves. Intended for new (and experienced) parents with children 0-14 months (please see our Parent-Toddler Program for children ages 15 months and up).

Ages: Open to families with infants 0-14 months old. For families with children ages 15 months and up, please see our Parent-Toddler Program.

Date & Time: Baby & Me classes meet Thursday mornings, from 11:00am to 12:15pm.

About the Class

Explore themes related to the growth, development, and parenting of the infant with mother and Waldorf teacher Rhian Dale! Babies lie on a soft blanket where they watch what interests them or move around to reach the objects in the room. Special attention is given to supporting the natural unfolding of children’s interests, movement abilities, social interactions, and problem-solving skills. A nurturing atmosphere welcomes and surrounds adults and babies alike.

We will learn seasonal songs, lullabies, and games to play with babies. Parents also develop their ability to quietly observe and interpret babies’ movements, gestures, and vocalizations. Through quiet observation, parents deepen their own intuitive knowledge and discover new ways of being with their children.

Weekly readings are explored in a spirit of mutual learning, and classes based on Waldorf, early childhood education, also include opportunities for informative conversation.
