Calligraphy Taught in Grades 6 to 8
In grades 6 - 8 the children reawaken an appreciation for the word and its written form. They learn through careful practice and attention to detail the Italic alphabet, graphic layout and design, and illuminated letters. The foundation is set with the history of writing, knowledge of specific tools and fluid ink, and tedious practice. Then the spirit of writing is revealed through color and design. Lastly the children bring brilliance to elaborate manuscripts with accuracy and grace.
